FAQ - Optometry Australia Choir

Q. Who can join?

A. All OA members are welcome, including students and retired members.

Q. What if I don’t know how to read music?

A: This choir is for everyone and we all learn differently. Audio tracks in your preferred vocal range will be emailed to you. For those who know how to read music, vocal manuscripts will be emailed to you.

Q. What songs are we singing?

A: Please pop in your song suggestions in the form! There will be a good variety of repertoire from possibly pop, rock to maybe traditional choral. It depends on your suggestions and final configuration of the choir.

Q. Do I have to attend OCC in Melbourne on August 17 & 18?

A. Our first choir performance will be in Melbourne, on August 17 and/or August 18. However, if you cannot attend this particular conference, please express your interest anyway  as you never know where and when the next in-person performance will be!

Q. What if I don’t want to attend the conference as a CPD conference delegate. Can I just want to come and join the choir?

A. No. Unfortunately you will need to attend OCC as a delegate to participate in this choir.

Q. Will there be rehearsals?

A. This is largely a volunteer, no rehearsal choir. Yes, it may sound scary, but this is a pub choir! However, for those living in Melbourne or keen to fly in earlier, we may plan some rehearsals for Friday 8th Aug & 15 August (evenings) or Saturday 16 August (afternoon).  These rehearsals will be optional.
